A project like no other

This project required us to rethink all we new about the traditional narrative game we used to play. We were tasked to create a system that would allow the entire live audience of the show to interact with specific cutscenes so they could win points that would allow them to alter the ending of the cutscene they were watching but also award them with points they could then use to weight on the main decisions the characters were making.

As for all innovative projects, we had to iterate a lot on the core loop for the Activities (as we called these playable cutscenes) and we opted to create a modular environment that is built on runtime and allows to select multiple possible outcomes.

Using Unreal allowed us to dynamically load the characters so a viewer could use their points in order for their avatar to appear within the cutscene, this also allowed us to dynamically select which ending would need to play depending on the score the community managed to attain.
